Runaway Robot Helps High School Students Investigate Connections Between Religion And Science
The National Museum of American History (NMAH) hired Interactive Knowledge in October 2021 to help plan and design a unique, online activity that would support an exhibition at the museum titled, Discovery & Revelation. Once the planning contract was completed, NMAH offered a second contract to finalize the design based on target audience feedback and develop the Runaway Robot website. Runaway Robot is designed for use with high school students who are considering questions such as, “Are religion and science in conflict?” and “Can both religion and science be true?”
The bilingual, interactive website uses images of artifacts from the physical exhibition to present an original online experience. The site offers students a series of opportunities to process important questions that are addressed in the exhibition. The structure of the website follows the “Choose your own adventure” format so each student can have a different experience while learning about the intersection of religion and science.
