Interactive Knowledge wins a Silver Award in the inaugural Anthem Awards competition
Interactive Knowledge has been named a Silver Award winner in the inaugural Anthem Awards competition. The Anthem Awards, the Webby Awards newest initiative, was developed to recognize the breadth of social good work (online and offline) around the globe by honoring the organizations, brands, and people creating long-lasting impact; including, Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion; Education, Art, & Culture; Health; Human & Civil Rights; Humanitarian Action & Services; Responsible Technology; and Sustainability, Environment, & Climate.
We are being recognized for our work with Clemson University’s Media Forensics Hub to create an educational website titled, Spot the Troll. This interactive quiz is designed to help the public recognize common disinformation techniques used everywhere in social media. It introduces eight social media accounts that exist or used to exist on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Participants review the account profile information and selected posts and decide if the account is legitimate or a troll. Afterward, the user is shown specific things to look for when deciding whether an account is fictitious or not.
Spot the Troll was named a finalist in the Responsible Technology / Research Projects and Publications category. Our work was up against some very impressive competition, including sites from Google, Accenture, BBDO New York, Ogilvy, and iHeartMedia. We are thrilled to see how well our project compares with organizations that have huge resources at their disposal. This inaugural competition received nearly 2,500 entries from 36 countries worldwide. We are proud of the work we do for our clients and humbled by this type of international recognition.
