Interactive Knowledge Launches North Carolina History Explorer to Inspire Heritage Tourism Across the State
Interactive Knowledge partnered with the American Battlefield Trust, the North Carolina Department of Commerce, and America 250 NC to create the North Carolina History Explorer, an interactive touchscreen experience that will be installed in all nine North Carolina Welcome Centers in addition to the North Carolina Legislative Building and the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources Building. Designed to celebrate the state's rich history during the nation's 250th anniversary, the kiosk invites travelers to discover the people, places, and events that shaped North Carolina from the Revolutionary War through the Civil War. Through engaging maps, photography, video, and interactive storytelling, the experience encourages visitors to explore historic sites across the state and supports heritage tourism by connecting digital discovery with real-world destinations.

As travelers interact with the kiosks throughout the state, the North Carolina History Explorer will serve as a gateway to museums, battlefields, state historic sites, parks, and communities, helping preserve and share North Carolina's stories for a new generation.
